Developing or designing a mobile-first product? How does the mobile-first strategy apply to the UI/UX process? How should you approach building intuitive digital experiences? Join us in this UI/UX masterclass to learn key principles around a mobile-first strategy, for digital enterprise products.
Statistics have shown that consumers are using mobile more than desktop interfaces and this phenomenon has nudged designers of digital interfaces to develop content and responsive web design based on mobile-first as a priority. This is the same for many enterprises, whether in the retail, logistics or F&B industry, who are increasingly getting their staff to use their tablets and mobile devices to take orders, track and manage inventory, or coordinate internal goods and services.
In this masterclass, we will cover:
Principles of mobile-first strategy and its importance
Get hands-on by applying the UI/UX process to creating a mobile-first wireframe
Learn the different user testing methods and how to conduct usability testing
This workshop is for you if…
You’re from a Tech or Media Start-ups/SME,
You’re building digital platforms for enterprise clients that adopt a mobile-first approach.
You’re a founder, or project lead overseeing the UI/UX aspects of the product.

10:00am – 10:10am Opening Introduction to PIXEL
10:10am – 11:00am Introduction to a mobile-first approach
Why is it important to designing user interfaces and experiences? What is a mobile-first design?
11:00am – 12:30pm Key UI/UX considerations
What are the key steps of the mobile-first strategy and approach in UI/UX? Participants will get hands-on and apply the process and tools to a hypothetical challenge that will be used in the class.

2:30pm – 3:30pm Wireframing a mobile-first interface
Using the content that they have prioritised, participants will learn some basic wire framing tools to create a digital prototype.
• How to create a wire frame?
• What are the UI heuristics to consider?
3:30pm – 3:50pm Tea Break
3:50pm – 5:00pm Usability Testing
Participants will learn how to conduct usability testing, what the methods are and how to go about testing. They will do a quick testing with one another using card sorting, A/B testing or scenario testing in the workshop as a way to experience the usability testing. We will end the day by sharing some tips and advice for a mobile-first strategy
This workshop is organised by PIXEL and facilitated by Thinkplace.

New: Usability Testing Lab at PIXEL
Usability testing involves observing real users as they attempt to complete given tasks. PIXEL has a new Usability Testing Lab for companies to organise usability testing interviews, to gather quantitative and qualitative feedback on the effectiveness, efficiency, and user satisfaction. This workshop will give you insights on conducting your own usability testing interviews. Following which, do enquire with us on booking the facilities for your use!
